Makio - The Official Yearbook of The Ohio State University

Makio / About Us

The Makio is one of Ohio State's oldest traditions. Dating back to the late 1800s, the yearbook has strived to portray life at OSU. In recent years, the book as been 296 pages. The black-and-white sections include Student Life, Sports, Academics, Student Organizations & Greek Life, Seniors, and People & Places.

The Makio staff has worked their hardest to include something in the book for everyone. For example, last year's 2010-2011 Makio included features on TBDBITL's Drum Major, a CABS bus driver, the history of the Faculty Club, and much more. The staff also gave a spread to every varsity sport, and they opened up submissions to every single active student organization and Greek chapter on campus. The Seniors section includes senior portraits, which are free to sit for if you are a graduating senior.

Perhaps most importantly, the Student Life section is always full of what life was like on campus during that school year. Major events such as Beat Michigan Week, the Mirror Lake Jump, and Homecoming are always featured. The 2010-2011 book also included things such as President Obama's visit to campus and the impromptu Mirror Lake jump after the news of Osama bin Laden.

The Makio is far more than just a yearbook to most students and alumni. It is a treasure that encompasses the unparalleled spirit, pride, and tradition that comes with being a Buckeye. Many alumni have contacted the Makio staff, hoping to purchase an old edition of the book.

Unfortunately, the Makio will not be publishing for the 2011-2012 school year. If you are interested in purchasing past copies of the book, please email us at osuyearbook@gmail.com.
